HOTSPOT fire detectors are thermal imaging cameras with infrared measurement technology and intelligent signal evaluation. They “see” thermal radiation, i.e. infrared light that is not visible to the human eye.  When smoldering fires or open fires occur in industrial plants, every second counts. The ADICOS HOTSPOT detectors detect all types of smoldering fires and open fires even in the incipient stage. Thanks to their high response speed of 100 milliseconds, they also monitor moving objects: for example, ember pockets on conveyor belts or heated batteries in recycling conveyor systems. The robust detectors are also used in potentially explosive atmospheres, zone 22 to 0: They are then either approved by manufacturer’s declaration or certified according to the ATEX Directive and IECEx.
